You would use MedBridge® as a complement to your live interpreters and other language resources. MedBridge® 2.5 is a support, not a replacement, for your existing language services. Communication with a patient need not be delayed waiting for an interpreter to arrive, whether in the Emergency department, Inpatient care, or other parts of your hospital, or be postponed because they have been called away to a more urgent situation. Hospital staff can aid and comfort limited-English proficient (LEP) or Deaf patients when the interpreter is not available. For short patient encounters, when it is unlikely that an interpreter would be called for a simple question, with MedBridge® 2.5, providers can respond to the needs of a patient right away. For instance, quick assessment and management of pain or comfort can take place at any time. MedBridge® 2.5 is ideal for non-emergent short patient encounters any time of the day or night. Your LEP and Deaf patients are assured that their well-being and care is important to you. Their level of satisfaction increases when health delivery is immediate, effective and respectful in their chosen language.
MedBridge® 2.5 content has been developed by Medical Caregivers licensed in the US and Canada using existing models of care. Teams composed of medical and linguistic professionals collaborated to arrive at medical content accessible to the LEP and Deaf patient. MedBridge® 2.5 has been created to provide a patient-centered support for your language services needs. Having MedBridge® 2.5 on hand to help expand your language services will help improve compliance with legislation and accreditation standards required of your organization.
MedBridge® 2.5 can fit easily into any hospital's workflow, or a specific workflow can be organized to meet individual hospital or department needs.

MedBridge® 2.5 has an extensive Medication instructions section. Medication information can be printed in both the patient's language and in English, detailing the type of medication, how to take the medication, when and how often the medication should be taken and even how to store the medication. Also included are the condition the medication is intended to treat and a comprehensive list of side effects and warnings of when to contact a physician or return to the hospital. Discharge instructions can also be printed out to take home, to support and inform the patient after they leave the hospital.
You use the MedBridge® 2.5 solution to provide the information in spoken phrases in the patient's language. The accompanying written information can be printed out in their language, along with the English text, to produce a handout that they can take with them for future reference.
